We found our home the day after Christmas with the help and support of our amazing realtor, Emma Brennan. We had pretty typical wants and needs and nothing up to that point had fulfilled any of them. Not to mention the prices were just atrocious. We stumbled upon a home with a double lot, two garages and tons of space for our future gardens. It was actually listed below our price parameter with minimal photos but the property was interesting and I immediately told Emma I was curious and wanted a look. We approached this viewing in Solvay without much optimism; but we were soon so smitten with the home we couldn’t help but really start to daydream of the potentials. Emma is incredible. I had a horrible experience with my previous agent while selling my house. Because of this horrible experience, I wanted to find a new agent for the purchase of my new home. I was connected with Emma, and straight off the bat she was focused, determined, and energetic. I know the saying, “ I never could’ve done this without you“ is cliché, but I seriously would not have found my dream house without her. She mentioned a house for me to look at, and I told her that I’ve seen the house online, and loved the house, but couldn’t afford it. She responded with, “Lets go look at it and see what we can do.” We went to look at the house and it was amazing. It had 99% of everything I wanted, but was too expensive. I put in an offer less than asking and crossed my fingers. With Emma’s knowledge in real estate, knowing how the market works, and her never ending energy to get what I wanted, I ended up buying the house for over $100,000 less (yes, LESS) than originally listed even at the height of the insane, red hot 2021 seller’s market! I’m not saying this will happen with every sale, but clearly Emma is on top of her game. The sellers agent gave me a difficult time throughout the buying process, but Emma wasn’t intimidated. She got the answers I needed almost immediately. If you want someone on your side when buying a house, it’s Emma. At one point in the process, the sellers needed me to send them a very important document. I was going to drive it out to them, but Emma said she was willing to drive an HOUR out of her way to deliver it to the sellers. When I realized just how dedicated she was as an agent, willing to drive an hour for me, I told her it wasn’t necessary and found an alternative method to deliver the document. Think about that. What agent is willing to drive an HOUR for you? Emma, that’s who. The seller’s agent was shocked that she was willing to go to such lengths for me. Any agent can sell a house and get a paycheck. But if you want to be more than just a paycheck, if you want to have someone on your side who is there for you from start to end, it’s Emma.

My wife and I are first time homebuyers, and had done a little research before beginning the process of buying our first home. Needless to say, this was not enough to prepare us for the journey! Not to mention that the home market is out of control with near record level demand for homes! We were recommended to Mike as he is a friend of the family and he has been a wonderful resource throughout the process.
Mike first had a phone call with us to find out what we were looking for in our home, and what we absolutely did not want in our first home. From there, Mike set up an MLS search and started sending us alerts to homes that fit our criteria. Shortly after, we were on our way to building a list of homes we wanted to see. He also provided us with a recommendation for a bank to work with in getting our mortgage pre-approval, which is a must in this market! We liked the bank so much we stuck with them through the whole process.
Mike was very patient and accommodating with us as my wife and I were interested in what felt like every house that came our way. Homes were not on the market long, and were selling fast, so we felt that we needed to look at as much as we could as fast as we could! We wanted to figure out what we liked and didn't like about homes in our price range, and Mike never made us feel we were overbearing, and worked to set up as many showings as he could. We felt that Mike was a straight shooter, who let us know the pros and the cons with each house we looked at. Mike also learned, perhaps better than we did ourselves, what we truly liked in a house, and tailored our showings to what we were looking for!
When it came time to offer, and there were a few we lost out on, Mike was very helpful in guiding us through the process, making it as seamless and as easy as possible. He gave us honest recommendations of where to start and how far we should be willing to go on each offer.
After missing out on a few homes to some strong competition, along came the house that fit everything that we wanted after a few months of searching. We were ready to make an offer, and the house we fell in love with went under contract before we had a chance. Mike knew it was something we really had interest in, and continued to monitor the property. Fortunately for us, it came back on the market a few days later and Mike was ready to pounce! He let us know right away, and again guided us through the process with making the offer, and the counter-offers that followed. With Mike's help, we got our house!
After our offer was accepted, Mike continued to provide us stellar recommendations for home inspectors, real estate attorneys, and insurance brokers. We went with all of his recommendations after doing some searching on our own and could not be happier.
Throughout the closing process, Mike continued to check in with us to make sure everything was moving smoothly and made sure we were comfortable.
Mike, thank you for guiding us through this process in perhaps the craziest housing market in recent history! We could not have done it without you!
